What is waxing?

What is sugaring?

Sugaring is a hair-removal method that uses a paste traditionally made from sugar, water, and lemon. The paste is applied against the direction of hair growth and removed in the natural direction of growth. This technique can be especially suitable for sensitive skin and may help reduce irritation, breakage, and ingrown hairs.

What is the difference between waxing and sugaring?

Both methods remove hair from the root and provide long-lasting smoothness. Waxing is typically quicker and works well for most hair types and body areas. Sugaring uses a lower-temperature paste and removes hair in its natural growth direction, making it a gentle option for sensitive skin or clients prone to ingrown hairs.

We use premium hard wax made in Spain, hypoallergenic soft wax manufactured in Italy, and eco-conscious sugar paste crafted in California. Each product is carefully selected for its gentle performance, comfort, and ability to effectively remove hair while minimizing irritation.

The level of discomfort varies depending on your hair type, skin sensitivity, the area being treated, and your personal pain tolerance.

Many clients find sugaring to be more comfortable because the sugar paste is applied at body temperature and adheres primarily to the hair rather than the skin.

Others prefer hard or soft wax, especially for coarse hair, because it can be quicker and more effective in certain areas.

A histamine reaction is a temporary, inflammatory response that some people experience after waxing. As hair is removed, the body releases histamine as part of its natural inflammatory response.

You may notice:

• Swelling

• Small red or white bumps

• Mild redness

• Itching

• Warmth or sensitivity in the treated area

These symptoms are common, especially after your first few waxes or if you have sensitive skin, and typically subside within a few hours to 24–72 hours.

To help soothe the skin:

• Apply a cool compress if needed.

• Avoid excessive heat, sweating, and friction for the first 24–48 hours.

• If needed, an over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone cream may help reduce itching and redness. Use only as directed on the product label.

• If approved by your healthcare provider, an over-the-counter antihistamine may also help relieve symptoms.
